Machine Learning for Antimicrobial Resistance Prediction in Surgical ICU

Publication

Designed and led a retrospective observational study applying machine learning to predict multidrug-resistant infections in surgical ICU patients. Identified critical risk factors using SHAP-based feature importance analysis, providing actionable insights for clinical decision-making.

Logistic Regression vs. Machine Learning in CABG Outcome Prediction

Under Peer-Review in Scientific Reports

Performed a cohort study comparing logistic regression, XGBoost, and neural networks for predicting complex multisystem adverse outcomes post-CABG. Utilized scikit-learn, TensorFlow/Keras, and Optuna for preprocessing, model development, and hyperparameter optimization. XGBoost outperformed logistic regression, identifying key perioperative predictors for clinical interventions.

Novel Cellulose-Based Hemostat Evaluation in Trauma Models

Under submission

Conducted a prospective in-vivo study comparing AriClot, a novel cellulose-based hemostatic patch, with BloodSTOP iX® in a rabbit trauma model simulating moderate-to-severe bleeding. Evaluated clotting time, rebleeding rates, and tissue responses, demonstrating AriClot’s comparable hemostatic efficacy and favorable biocompatibility for trauma care applications.
